What is NLP?
What is Neurolinguistic Programming?
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California in the 1970s.
It's a long story and suffice it to say, it's the study of how language impacts our brain and
therefore our life (those are my words). We all know that sometimes it's not what some
says, it's how they say it or it's their body language while they're saying it that impacts
how we hear what they're saying. NLP can help us learn how to use our words in
combination with tone and body language to actually communicate better with everyone
in our lives. Sales people in particular can become wildly successful by utilizing the
teachings of NLP.
Here's a great video by Dr. Matt James that explains NLP in a great way!
What is Mental and
Mental and Emotional Release® Therapy (MER) is a Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
technique that has been found to be the most effective for fully releasing the negative
emotions and limiting decisions that make up emotional baggage.
MER techniques heal those damaged emotions and thought patterns (limiting beliefs)
that interfere with your happiness and well-being. They can quiet the voice of the inner
critic and ease emotions caused by trauma. They work wonders for easing painful
thoughts and irrational fears no matter their origin.
Negative emotions can keep you in a state of stress. They harm not only to your mental health, but your physical health as well. They harm your relationships and skew your view of the world. You cannot enjoy life while stress hormones keep you physically and mentally in a negative space. Healing requires a relaxed, calm mind and body.
When a trauma happens, no matter how big or small, its memory lodges somewhere in your body. When this cellular memory is triggered, you get caught in a loop of painful thoughts and distress. As you let go of the emotional pain, your thoughts about the incident shift. The energy flow is unblocked and so is the distress that accompanied it. You are then free to integrate the memory in a healthy way, or surprisingly even let it fade away. Then you are free to use that energy for healing, creativity, and purpose.
Pain from your past, the unconscious things we tell ourselves and self-doubt will keep you from living the life you were meant to be.
The truth is, YOU have the ability to create YOUR life to be full of joy, happiness, peace and total fulfillment.
You can gain a sense of empowerment, feel confidence, let go of what doesn't serve you any longer, heal your past experiences, reach your highest vision by staying true to yourself and your goals.
What does this mean for you?
This may all sound a little "out there" but think about it for a minute. Do you have a memory from your childhood or college that replays in your mind over and over? Do you feel guilty about things that happened years ago? Do you still feel the hurt of old relationships? Do you have beliefs that you never tell anyone else about why you aren't as successful as you want to be?
These are EXACTLY the types of things that this type of therapy is great for! You can release all of those feelings and beliefs and MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE!
